Nissan Infiniti QX4 and Nissan Pathfinder Trouble. Nissan says that the salt used in winter in recent years to fight the snow on the road may have affected the steering column of the models.

In effect, the combination of water, salt, and snow piled up in the hole on the wheel strut. Over time, says Nissan, this combination can cause corrosion of the wheel strut home.

If not promptly replaced, the steering system will rust-eaten, and eventually will cause the car had become unmanageable.

Models affected by the recall are the Nissan Pathfinder produced between 1996 and 2004 and QX4 models built between 1997 and 2003. But Nissan does not mention how many units to be withdrawn.
