Honda New megapro and Honda CBR250R proven to work to strengthen the penetration of PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) in the segment of motor sport.
Total sales of Honda type of motor sport in the third month this year recorded 24,217 units in March 2010 while only 16,932 units. Cumulatively, in the January to March, sales of Honda sport bike type recorded 65,864 units or 44.3 percent rise compared with the previous year's first quarter is only 45 628 units.

Honda New megapro which was first released in August 2010, last month sold 17,975 units while the year to date this year (January-March) recorded sales of 51,088 units.

In another sport bike segment, the Honda CBR250R newly released to the market in late February this year also had significant penetration in the segment of motor sport 250 cc.

Last month, the flagship motor sport AHM is sold over 1167 units or soar around 342 percent compared with February.

"As a newcomer, Honda New megapro received overwhelming response among consumers. At least this is reflected in the achievement of sales during the first quarter of this year. The same was experienced by the Honda CBR250R, "says Senior General Manager of Sales Division AHM Sigit Kumala.

Another type of motor sport also make a significant contribution. Honda Tiger in the first quarter of this year sold over 9327 units while sales of 3686 units was recorded CS1.
